The DGS-1210-24 is part of D-Link 3rd generation of Web Smart Switches that integrates advanced management and security features for performance and scalability. With an innovative fanless design that ensures quiet operation and longer life, the DGS-1210-24 provides a complete and affordable solution for small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) businesses.
Seamless integration.
The DGS-1210-24 includes 24 10/100/1000 Mbps ports capable of connecting to Cat.5 twisted pair cables. Additionally, the last four ports of the DGS-1210-1224 combine SFP and copper connectivity into one port and thus offer a flexible solution for server connections via fiber interface. Using the default presets, the administrator can quickly configure the switch without worrying about reconfiguring settings and with easy access for the user.
Expanded functions of level 2.
Equipped with a full range of Layer 2 features, these switches include IGMP snooping, port mirroring, Spanning Tree and link aggregation control protocol (LACP). The IEEE 802,3x Flow Control feature allows servers to connect directly to the switch for fast, reliable data transfer. At 2000 Mbps full duplex, Gigabit ports deliver high-speed data pipes to servers with minimal data transfer loss. Maintenance loopback network functions include cable detection and diagnostics. Loopback detection is used to detect loops created by a specific port and automatically shut down the affected port. Cable Diagnostics is designed for network administrators to quickly examine the quality of copper cables and also determine the type of cable error.
QoS and bandwidth control.
The switch is perfect for deployment in a VoIP environment as it supports Auto VLAN Voice and Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) QoS for VoIP applications. Auto VLAN Voice automatically place voice traffic from an IP phone to an assigned VLAN and thereby improve VoIP service. With higher priority and individual VLANs, this feature ensures the quality and security of VoIP traffic. DSCP marks parts of an IP packet, allowing different levels of service to be assigned for network traffic. With Bandwidth Control, the network administrator can reserve bandwidth for important functions that require higher bandwidth or have been given high priority.
Secure your network.
D-Link Safeguard's unique feature protects the engine switch against traffic floods caused by virus attacks. The switch also supports port-based 802,1X authentication, allowing the network to authenticate through an external RADIUS server. Additionally, the Access Control List (ACL) feature improves network security and helps protect the internal IT network. The DGS-1210-24 includes ARP Spoofing Prevention, which protects against attacks on the Ethernet network that can allow an intruder to sniff data frames on a LAN, modify traffic, or bring traffic to an end entirely by sending bogus ARP messages to the network. To prevent ARP Spoofing attacks, the packet control switch uses ACLs to block invalid packets that contain bogus ARP messages. For added security, the DHCP Server Detection features rogue screens DHCP server packets from user ports to prevent unauthorized IP assignment.
Versatile Management.
The DGS-1210-24 provides a SmartConsole utility and a web-based management interface that allows administrators to remotely control their network down to the port level. The SmartConsole facility allows customers to discover multiple D-Link Web Smart switches on the same L2 network segment. With this utility, users do not need to change the IP address of their PC and it also provides easy initial configuration of Smart Switches. Switches on the same Layer 2 network segment that connect to the user's PC are displayed on the screen for instant access. This allows extensive switch configuration options and basic device configuration found, such as password changes and firmware updates. The DGS-1210-24 also supports D-View 6,0, D-Link's own Network Management System, and the Compact Command Line Interface (CLI) via Telnet. This makes setting basic options such as password or firmware changes and loading the configuration file possible.
D-Link Green.
The DGS-1210 with 24 instruments from D-Link Green, an innovative concept that provides energy savings without sacrificing performance or functionality. The switch reacts when the devices connected to it are turned off, placing the corresponding port into standby mode that requires less power. It also automatically detects the length of connected cables, allowing you to reduce power consumption on shorter cable connections of up to 20 m. D-Link Green certification ensures that the switch complies with the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directives. RoHS restrict the use of specific hazardous materials during the manufacturing of electrical and electronic products, while WEEE enforces standards for proper disposal and recyclable packaging to help reduce waste.
